How to Use GIFs in Your Marketing to Boost Engagement

You need attention. It is the foundation of every single marketing strategy since the dawn of time and will continue to be the foundation for long into the future. In fact, it simplifies marketing so well, that we often use it in our presentations to new clients to help them understand why we are pitching what we are pitching.

To that end, we usually frown upon gimmicks that strive to get attention without providing value. Think an annoying pop up on a campground website that repeatedly asks for your email address even after you have dismissed it. Another example might be flashing text, banners, or the things we use to use frequently back in the days of MySpace.

Sometimes, when used tastefully, these tools can be excellent marketing resources. Take the same pop up example above and add a few rules to only show it once and only show it to people who have viewed multiple pages or scrolled down to read an entire article. All of sudden it becomes less distracting and more valuable if they like your content.

The same rules apply to GIFs. They have become mainstream enough now, that you can use them in your campground marketing, once in a while. Use them in email marketing, in social media posts, or even on your website. Use them sparingly, and they can become one piece to your marketing puzzle, that can bring in more guests to your RV park.
